A Summer of Bike Fun
Bike Summer is a summer-long open source festival where anyone can host a ride. The Pedalpalooza tradition has been ongoing for over 20 years, and now it's expanded to last all summer.
This Year's Artist: DandyLion
Unfocused dilettante, nay, Professional Artist DandyLion has been cycling around Portland for the past 11 years, after leaving their homeland in the Rocky Mountain foothills for a public service job in the City of Roses. Working in a mix of media ranging from experiential and wearable art to drag puppetry, they strive to ignite whimsy and fun. Their most infamous project is likely Sparklerocket, an illuminated discoball spaceship that launches every June for its annual Galactic Disco Pedalpalooza Voyage to the cosmic event Loud-n-Lit. When not making art, they are aspiring to live in a world in which billionaires are taxed out of existence and Palestine is free.
